TRAILER TROVE: Final week of Attack Of The B Movies!

Sorry I missed last week's Trailer Trove - things were a bit hectic. This week, the final installment (for now) of National Amusements "Attack Of The B Movies"! For the original five theaters this week, it's "Tormented" (no trailer available), along with the Roger Corman classic, Little Shop Of Horrors!

For the second group of 15 theaters in eight states, you will be seeing Vincent Price's classic "Last Man On Earth"...

Followed by a REAL piece of agony from the UK, "Devil Girl From Mars"

Join us again next week as we return to our regular format, as the TroveCheese of the week and the Pantheon movie of all time trailers return RIGHT HERE!!!

TRAILER TRAIN - Still Green

Here's the trailer for the winner of Best Narrative Feature at this years' New England Film And Video Festival- Still Green, directed by Jon Artigo

We had hoped to bring you more, but Once Upon A Film does not have a trailer online, and the trailer for Cut Off can be found by searching Google Video, but isn't embedable.

Still, this movie more than makes up for it, I think...it's a fantastic film!

TRAILER TROVE -Attack Of The B Movies continues!

As we continue our march through the trailers of the films being featured in National Amusements' Attack Of The B Movies series, we could not find a trailer online for the first of the two features from this week in the orignal five theaters, Ring Of Terror.

However in all it's glory, here's the trailer from the second feature, The Indestructible Man

If you're in the newer set of theaters showing the series, you're getting the original set of six double features, and this week's movies are Attack Of The Giant Leaches..

and Monster From A Prehistoric Planet...actually OUR PLANET....also known as GAPPA...for which no trailer can be found...

We'll try again next week with more Attack Of The B-Movies!

TRAILER TROVE - Bummer! Only ONE B-movie this week

Well, I tried...

In searching around the net, I found NOTHING where the current set of Attack Of The B-Movies flicks are concerned...no one has posted trailers for THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE and KILLERS FROM SPACE anywhere...

HOWEVER...

On the new set of theaters showing the original set of six double features, though no trailer for THE SCREAMING SKULL could be found, I DID manage to find one for our friend Jan-In-The-Pan's movie, THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE...

Hopefully next week will be more fruitful in the trailer department...

TRAILER TROVE - Attack Of the B-Movies continues!

This week at National Amusement's ATTACK OF THE B MOVIES...

If you're in the original five theater group, you'll be seeing GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN (couldn't find a trailer for this one, sorry) along with what looks to be a really PAINFUL experience...SHE DEMONS..

If you're a part of the new group of 15 theaters (check your local listings), you will be seeing THE GIANT GILA MONSTER...

...along with GAMMERA THE INVINCIBLE...

For complete listings, and a list of theaters showing ATTACK OF THE B-MOVIES, click on the button on the right sidebar! And if you're in the Boston area, we hope to see you at the Revere MA Showcase Cinemas this Thursday at 7 PM!  Be sure to say hi!

TRAILER TROVE - "Attack Of The B-Movies" edition!

National Amusements is launching its second series of "Attack Of The B Movies" shows this week in 20 locations in the northeast and midwest US, so we thought we'd spotlight some of the movies they will be running over each week.

The charter theaters that launched the first series will be ahead of the additional 15 theaters where the series is launching, so there are actually two different series running.

If you're taking in the show in one of the five original theaters - Showcase Cinemas in Revere MA, Randolph MA, Lowell MA, West Springfield MA, and Warwick RI, you will be seeing the classic British remake of the painful Japanese film Gappa - the UK's version was called "Gorgo"..

Along with the second feature, "Teenagers From Outer Space"

If you're in the new group of 15 theaters showing the series, you're starting with the first group of movies, and you're in for a treat...if you can call Roger Corman's The Wasp Woman a treat...

Your second feature will be a piece of garbage called "Monster From Green Hell" starring Jim "Jock Ewing" Davis...

Those of us who enjoy B Movies have been having a field day, and thank you to National Amusements for coming up with this nifty idea!

More "Attack Of The B-Movies!" trailers next week!

TRAILER TROVE - Remembering 9/11

On this sixth anniversary of the most horrific terrorist attack in history, some people seem to have forgotten WHY the U.S. is the way it is when it comes to our work in the middle east to bring down terrorism.  Here are two reasons that we hope will remind everyone WHY it is absolutely CRITICAL we win the war on terror...2,974 innocent people died six years ago today.  They were people who had lives that they never dreamed would be cut short in such a brutal and terrifying way. And we must NEVER, EVER let this kind of thing happen again on our soil.

To the work of the FDNY and NYPD, a reminder of what they had to deal with, and the job they faced with undeniable courage, even though many of them knew it could mean the end of their own lives...Oliver Stone's World Trade Center

To all those innocent people who boarded planes heading off on business, family trips, or returning home to loved ones, here is the true tribute to 44 of those people who gave their lives to try and save others targeted by the terrorists by fighting back...and one of TC's Top 10 Personal Pantheon movies...here are both trailers for Paul Greengrass' United 93

Our thoughts and prayers will always be with those who lost their lives on that horrible day six years ago, and with the loved ones they left behind as well. Let us never again have to endure such pain and heartbreak again...and let us NEVER forget WHY we are fighting to help make the world a safer place...

OK, political statements over...back to business as usual tomorrow....:-)

TRAILERTRAIN - More great upcoming movies!

This week's TrailerTrain features some movies that i'm not sure about, but maybe our readers can decide on them...

First up, the Sundance favorite Rocket Science:

I have to admit, after seeing the trailer, i've totally lost interest in this movie...it just doesn't seem like my kind of flick. But then again, i've seen many like that before and I was dead wrong about some of them too...

Next Up, another festival favorite, The King Of Kong

This should be interesting...a video game version of Air Guitar Nation...

TRAILERTROVE: Cheesy trailers and Pantheon Classics

TROVECHEESE OF THE WEEK:

Instead of picking a trailer this week, I came across this clip, and couldn't resist putting it up. And since it's from a movie, I think it counts. So if you remember the 80s, this is the clip for you.

And now, for your viewing torture...er, pleasure....PNR presents the theme from Cannonball Run II!

The music video for "Like A Cannonball" by the most cheesiest of all cheesy 80s pop groups...MENUDO! (PS - Ricky Martin is NOT in this - this was before he joined the group...)

In the Pantheon Hall Of Fame, we salute one of the movies on the PNR Top 20 Pantheon lists announced on our first anniversary show. Last week, it was Kim's #1 film, "Star Wars".

I was really looking forward to this movie, based on the description and the premise behind it. Then I saw this trailer when I went to see Transformers, and now i'm not so sure...you be the judge for Hot Rod...

More trailers next week!

TRAILERTROVE: Gymkata, Star Wars

We've had a couple people ask us to group things together a bit when doing the trailers because they don't want to get separate posts, so we're revising things a bit this week.

From now on, we'll be doing two disinctly different "Trailer Of The WeeK" features - The first, "TrailerTrain" will feature current and upcoming trailers (up to 3); and the "TrailerTrove", which will be one "TroveCheese" selection of older movies we want to share the trailer of, such as we've been doing over the past few weeks, with such gems as "Can't Stop The Music", "Xanadu", and "Pirate Movie" (and which NO ONE has commented on yet, sniff sniff); and the "Pantheon Hall Of Fame", the trailer from one of the movies on either Kim's or my own PNR Pantheon Top 20 List as revealed on our anniversary show. And away we go....

TROVECHEESE OF THE WEEK

This week's "TroveCheese" is a gem that can't be equalled...and for some reason, IFC's Matt Siegal ran a successful campaign to get it released on DVD...AAAGGGGHHHH!!!

Seriously, though, as an actor, male lead Kurt Thomas is a fine, fine gymnast...

Here's "Gymkata"!

PANTHEON HALL OF FAME

This week's pantheon entry is a movie from both our lists. Kim's #1 movie, my #12 movie, it's the one and only STAR WARS (Episode 4, A New Hope for you Star Wars geeks out there..heh heh heh...

More cheese and pantheon trailers every week on PNR!

TRAILERTRAIN: KillShot, Golden Compass, Halloween

We've had a couple people ask us to group things together a bit when doing the trailers because they don't want to get separate posts, so we're revising things a bit this week.

From now on, we'll be doing two disinctly different "Trailer Of The WeeK" features - The first, "TrailerTrain" will feature current and upcoming trailers (up to 3); and the "TrailerTrove", which will be one "TroveCheese" selection of older movies we want to share the trailer of, such as we've been doing over the past few weeks, with such gems as "Can't Stop The Music", "Xanadu", and "Pirate Movie" (and which NO ONE has commented on yet, sniff sniff); and the "Pantheon Trailer", the trailer from one of the movies on either Kim's or my own PNR Pantheon Top 20 List as revealed on our anniversary show. And away we go....

TRAILERTRAIN

Looking forward to this great new movie with Mickey Roarke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. "Killshot" hits theaters this fall

Next, here's the trailer for what is looking to be this year's MAJOR Holiday movie, The Golden Compass

And finally, a taste of the scary...Rob Zombie's remake of the horror classic HALLOWEEN

More great trailers of upcoming movies every week on PNR!

CLASSIC TRAILER OF THE WEEK: THE PIRATE MOVIE

How cool is this? Classic bad movies are always worth their weight in gold...you've got Kristy McNichol in all her breast..er, BEST, plus Christopher Atkins, smiling for once (he's always so dour in the films he did - remember his turn on DALLAS?), and great music but a bad script. After all, what other movie offers up a song like PUMPIN' AND BLOWIN'?

TRAILER OF THE WEEK: ACROSS THE UNIVERSE

Maybe it's just me, but I think this movie looks great...but everyone around me (including Kim) think i'm nuts.  Anyone care to share a comment? Drop me a line with your opinion at subjectcinema@popcornnroses.com

June 06, 2007

CLASSIC TRAILER OF THE WEEK - Can't Stop The Music

From the "WHY are you doing this to ME?" folder...our "classic" trailer of this week follows in the footsteps of last week's classic, "Xanadu"...here's the theatrical trailer for Allan Carr's wuuuunderful Village People origin musical, Can't Stop The Music!

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - DUCK

Ever since I first heard about this movie about two months ago, i've been wanting to bring the trailer over, but kept forgetting...I can't wait to see this critcally-acclaimed gem...

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - Stardust

How can we resist a musical with Robert DeNiro as a gay pirate captain?  In all seriousness, though, this musical fantasy is getting great word of mouth already...

May 22, 2007

CLASSIC TRAILER OF THE WEEK - "XANADU"

Finally, this week, we're introducing the "Classic Trailer" of the week.

I can't hear it at work, which is where I'm posting this from, but it may be in french, since the person who posted it wrote in French, but our first Classic Trailer - or perhaps more aptly put as Classic BAD CINEMA Trailer (which is what most of these will be) - is the doozy of a trailer from XANADU

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - "Kingdom"

OK, time for Trailer #2...
This movie, hitting in August, is getting enough buzz for me to be interested, plus it has a halfway decent cast also...

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - "Fred Claus"

OK, I admit it, I can't fathom WHY, but the trailer for this movie has cracked me up since I first saw it with Happy Feet last fall. It looks very funny.

May 15, 2007

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - This is one thing I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

At long last, after wowing the crowds at Sundance 2005, LionsGate has picked up the terrorism thriller RIght At Your Door starring Rory Cochrane...watch for it in September!

TRAILER OF THE WEEK - Waitress

It's this week's darling, and was also the toast of Sundance, now on it's way to you. I plan to see it this weekend if possible.
