Observations:
Best MTV awards set ever - love the design and the way the colors and lights were used.
The Bruno/Eminem thing - GARBAGE...
Most of the comic bits were awful, but I liked the "Real Men Don't Watch Explosions"...first time in years Will Ferrell has actually been FUNNY...
the Kiefer Sutherland thing...that was just so WRONG in so many ways
The Jim Carrey bit was too long (what happened to Keyboard Cat? It was funnier than Carrey's speech) and not one bit funny...
MTV needs to order those Popcorn Statues without butter from now on. They get slippery, as Kristin Stewart proved...and would it have killed her to say thank you to the people who supported her outside the cast, like, oh, I don't know, say, her BOYFRIEND OF THREE YEARS...who just happens to be Michael Angarano...
Overall, it wasn't a TERRIBLE show, but it wasn't great either...Andy Samberg did a decent job as host, would have liked to have seen more awards, more movie previews, and less unfunny "comedy"...
And as for the dozen or so deserved nominees that got shut out...well, there's always next year...
